Reports state that at least five gunmen were killed after they tried to infiltrate into Israel from Egypt, the Israeli military said Monday, shortly after killing 16 Egyptian security forces in an attack on a Sinai checkpoint. Another seven Egyptians were wounded in the initial attack, when the militants opened fire on the checkpoint and commandeered vehicles during a Ramadan fast in Rafah.
