Palestinians take part in a rally against the closure of Shuhada Street in Hebron, the main artery blocked by an Israeli military checkpoint in the center of the West Bank town of Hebron Sep. 14, 2011. Palestinians demonstrated demanding freedom of movement in their town as all roads leading to or close to the Jewish settler homes are blocked making movement in the center of the town close to impossible. Under an accord with the Palestinian Authority in 1997. Israel withdrew from most of Hebron but kept troops around several enclaves in the city centre where 600 hardline settlers live under heavy army protection. Friction between the radical settlers and the 250,000 Palestinians they live among occurs on a near daily basis. Palestinians changed the name of the Shuhada Street to Apartheid Street.
